I’m sorry but I just had to write to you. I have just taken my two children to see The Snail and the Whale. It was simply beautiful! I wish I could express properly how moved I am and how captivated and enthralled my children were. We know the book so very well but have been totally blown away by this production.

Three performers marching across the stage. One is holding a snail and another is playing the viola.

Thank you for a beautiful interpretation of a story that means a lot to my family. My husband is in the Royal Air Force and this is the story he chose to tell on his Storybook wings CD for our two daughters. We all enjoyed the show, although I did shed a few tears as the heartache of saying goodbye was very close to home. My daughters loved it all.

As usual Tall Stories never fail to be inventive, imaginative and captivating on lots of different levels. My little girl who is 7 loved the sense of play; the use of live music and the secondary story line. A compelling performance to watch as an adult too.

This is the second time we’ve seen ‘The Snail and the Whale’ and it was wonderful yet again. Suits all ages, lots of laughs and meaningful moments for everyone. Perfect, thank you!

I have to say this was one of the best children’s theatre I have seen. The kids were mesmerised and loved it! I loved the inclusion of the violin in the story! There was plenty to entertain children and adults alike.

Rachel

The Snail and the Whale was superb. The kids gaffawed like loons at the slapstick while simultaneously the adults quietly sobbed at the melancholy subtext. Clever, fun and touching.

This interpretation of the Snail and the Whale is beautiful, joyful and wonderfully magical. I cannot recommend it enough. Not just 5 stars, but 5 million stars!

Please accept our congratulations on a first class performance, the best children’s entertainment I have enjoyed. The cast were superbly professional, engaging with the audience, making the story thoroughly entertaining and believable. The viola music was the icing on the cake!

I was really curious about how they would be able to put the book on the stage and whoever came up with this adaptation is a genius. The story was really touching and the three actors were brilliant.

Our children had a whale of a time at this performance. The production was absolutely fantastic and had the audience laughing and cheering throughout. We can’t wait to visit again.
